Podiatry Services

During your appointment, our podiatrist will assess the overall health of your feet, check circulation and nerve supply if needed and provide safe, gentle treatment to restore comfort. You’ll also receive professional advice on how to care for your feet at home and prevent problems returning.

In this appointment we provide treatment for a wide range of common foot concerns, including:

  • Hard skin, corns, and calluses

  • Cracked heels and dry skin

  • Thickened or difficult-to-cut toenails

  • Fungal or discoloured nails

  • Ingrown toenails (non-surgical care)

  • Verrucae and minor skin infections (non-surgical care)

Regular podiatry care can help you stay active, pain-free, and confident on your feet — whether you’re managing a medical condition or simply want to keep your feet in their best condition.

Musculoskeletal (MSK) and Gait Treatments

Your feet, ankles, knees, hips, and lower back all work together every time you move. If one part isn’t working properly, it can lead to pain, stiffness, or imbalance throughout your body.

Our MSK (musculoskeletal) and gait assessments are designed to find the cause of your pain — not just treat the symptoms. We look closely at how your joints, muscles and bones move. How your feet and legs work together when you walk or run.

During your appointment our podiatrist will:

  • Assess your posture, joint mobility, and muscle strength

  • Analyse how you walk (your gait) and how your feet strike the ground

  • Identify any imbalances, overuse, or alignment issues

  • Discuss your activities, footwear, and lifestyle to find contributing factors

Once we understand what’s causing your pain, we create a personalised treatment plan, which may include:

  • Gentle mobilisation or manipulation of the lower limb joints to relieve stiffness

  • Stretching and strengthening exercises to support recovery

  • Class 4 Laser therapy for soft tissue pain and inflammation

  • Practical advice on footwear, activity modification, and prevention

These treatments can help with conditions such as:

  • Heel and arch pain (plantar fasciitis)

  • Achilles or calf pain

  • Knee, hip, or lower back discomfort related to foot posture

  • Flat feet, high arches, or leg length differences

Our goal is to help you move more comfortably, improve performance, and prevent future injury — so every step feels easier and pain-free.

At Footsteps, we offer a range of specialist podiatry treatments for more complex or persistent foot problems. These procedures are carried out safely by our HCPC-registered podiatrists, who are qualified to administer local anaesthetic and prescribe specific podiatry medications (POMs) when needed.

Our special podiatry services include:

  • Nail Surgery – a permanent solution for painful or recurrent ingrown toenails. The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic to ensure complete comfort, and the affected part of the nail is carefully removed to prevent future problems.

  • Verrucae Needling – an effective treatment for stubborn verrucae that haven’t responded to other methods. The area is numbed with local anaesthetic, and the needling stimulates your body’s immune response to help clear the infection.

  • Local Anaesthetic Administration – used to make procedures pain-free and stress-free. This allows us to perform nail surgery, verruca needling, or other treatments comfortably and safely.

  • Prescription-Only Medicines (POMs) – our podiatrists can supply medications such as antibiotics to treat infections or support healing where needed.

These advanced treatments are always preceded by a full assessment and discussion, ensuring you understand the procedure and feel confident every step of the way.
